Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Social and Behavioural Change Specialist to join our team in London.
As a member of Malaria Consortium’s Global Technical Team, the SBC Specialist will provide technical assistance and guidance to country and multi-country programmes by supporting establishment of standards and quality of Malaria Consortium’s demand generation and community engagement activities. The position holder will lead the design and implementation of demand creation work including results measurements. An important aspect of the role is to build the organisational capacity in community engagement and behaviour change and provide thought leadership that helps to position the organisation as one that is grounded in the theory and practice of social determinants of health and behaviour change. They will lead, quality assure and contribute to implementation research related to SBCC including the community dialogue approach.
They will lead formative research and other qualitative studies on SBC and community engagement. The position holder will contribute to evidence base and support peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, conferences and presentations. In addition, the SBC Specialist will contribute to improvement of approaches in demand generation. He/she will also initiate and carry out relevant capacity strengthening of our key stakeholders such as Ministries of Health, related to demand generation.
The successful candidate will have:
- Postgraduate degree or equivalent in communication, marketing, public health or related field
- Significant experience in applying a range of behaviour change theories in the development sector or private sector
- Experience measuring results of demand generation activities, for example value for money
- Demonstrable experience working in demand generation programmes in the health sector
- Experience providing technical support to project teams remotely and physically, while meeting high standards
- Experience working with quality improvement approaches
