INEC reveals next step on Okorocha’s certificate of return as senator-elect | Search FM 92.3


The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC has disclosed it will meet subsequent week to take a choice on the most recent letter written by the incumbent Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, difficult its powers to withhold his Certificates of Return.


Okorocha was the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress within the February 23 Imo West Senatorial election.


The fee withheld his certificates of return after the Presiding Officer had declared him winner of the election. INEC claimed the declaration was made underneath duress.

Reacting yesterday in Abuja, Festus Okoye, INEC commissioner for data and voter training, acknowledged that although each events have been in courtroom over the problem, the fee’s chairman would meet with commissioners to deliberate on the problem and resolve on the subsequent line of motion.


“INEC chairman will meet subsequent week with Commissioners to deliberate on the most recent letter written by Okorocha and check out the problem once more.
